Boils End Dugas's Streak
Monday, July 18th, 2067
The 28-game hitting streak of Las Teyerias Slam shortstop Dan Dugas came to an end today at Boils Ballpark. The Bradford Boils held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Slam down to defeat, 4-1.

Later, Dugas acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.

"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."

This season Dugas is batting .309 with 81 hits, 1 home run, 28 RBIs, 13 walks, .346 OBP and has scored 25 runs. He has played in 70 games.
