Benton Wins JPNPA Best Player Award Monday, July 15th , 2069 23-year-old Phil Benton made a few Teitipac headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and JPN Primary Affiliation officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 11 hits in 22 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Benton collected 1 home run, 6 RBIs and scored 5 runs. To date this year Benton is batting .284 with 6 home runs. |
