Vancouver Breaks Through for First Win in Japan Championship; Now Trails 2-1
The Vancouver Ventures nearly wasted a strong game from starter Burian Navarro, but were saved by some timely hitting in a walk-off win over the Bani Banshees today.

Navarro was exceptional in the 2-1 win at Ballpark of Vancouver. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed Vancouver to cut the Bani lead in the best-of-7 series to 1-2.

Nathan Leinung was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ventures third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Vancouver manager .

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Vancouver in Vancouver.
