Tight Tilt Goes to Ventures, 3-2
|
The Vancouver Ventures stymied the Bani Banshees, 3-2, at Ballpark of Vancouver. Bernie Trowsdale had a good day at the plate. He was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Vancouver. Paul Taaij, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 10. His record now stands at 8-2. Hokichi Samurakami was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 13th of the season.
Trowsdale provided the big break for the Ventures in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run, helping Vancouver to get the win.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Trowsdale after the game.
The Longitude Division-leading Ventures are 34-22.
