Baracoa Bahia starter Newbold Yoakum was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Colon Cougars, 3-2. The winner in relief was Isei Ito. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The Cougars fall to 6-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Anselmo Mansegiao was 2 for 3 with a triple for Baracoa. The two-time CUB Gold Glove Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gabriel Romero. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
