Big Bat Pays Off, Ishii Player of the Week Monday, August 3rd, 2065 A hot-hitting week got Toshiyuki Ishii the VEN Secondary Affiliation Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The San Antonio del Tachira first baseman slammed them for a .630 average, 17 hits in 27 at-bats, 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 11 runs. In the postgame press conference, Ishii shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that." This year Ishii has hit at a .342 clip with 109 hits, 14 home runs, 54 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
