LAD's #1 Player Named Monday, August 10th, 2065 25-year-old Augusto Guirado sent shock waves through Venezuela Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Latitude Division Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Guirado made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .417 average, 10 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. Where the Tijuana Saltamontes left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Guirado certainly made his mark last week. For the season Guirado is currently batting .238 with 18 home runs and 37 RBIs. In 86 games he has reached base at a .372 rate and scored 55 runs to date. |
