Showstoppers Gómez Lost for Year Thursday, August 5th, 2066 Ramón Gómez of the Showstoppers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 26-year-old Tampa reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Juan de Herrera Valkyries recently at Tampa Grounds. Gómez suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Showstoppers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months. For the season Gómez has made 17 relief appearances, recorded 2 saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 1.42 ERA. In pitching 19 innings, he has totaled 9 strikeouts and 7 walks. |
