Season Ends for Javiero Echeveste of Fundacion Wednesday, August 14th , 2069 The doctors have spoken and Javiero Echeveste of the Fundacion Torment didn't like what he heard. The 34-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Echeveste sustained his season-ending injury during the Palm Bay Sunrays game yesterday at Saint Petersburg Fields. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Fundacion medical staff reported Echeveste had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months. To date in the season, Echeveste is 6-2 with 28 relief appearances and 1 save. He has held opposing batters to a .247 average, pitched 57.2 innings, struck out 39 and walked 20 while recording a 2.97 ERA. |
