Monterrey left fielder Girard Fuser made his presence felt in the 4-3 Alacranes triumph over the Hong Kong Golden Dragons. Fuser was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Monterrey goes to 42-26. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
Monterrey used the clutch hitting of Joo-il O to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Alacranes ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
In postgame comments, O said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
