The Suwon Samsung Lions topped the Hong Kong Golden Dragons, 8-6, in Latitude Division action at Samsung Roaring Lions Den. The standout performance belonged to Suwon pitcher and Tongyong, South Korea, native Jae-shin Kim. Kim, now 7-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. José Palmeiro notched his 3rd save in 5 chances.
Xiao-gang Wu, who is tied for 7th in the LAD in triples with 2, helped out the Suwon cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Wu, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
This win makes it 6 in a row for Suwon.
