Monterrey had no answer for Suwon Samsung Lions starter Jae-shin Kim, who flummoxed Alacranes hitters as the Samsung Lions cruised to victory, 7-0. Kim, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The loss drops the Alacranes to 11-4.
Elequemedo Cervantes had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Suwon. He came through with a bases-clearing triple to put Suwon in front, 6-0.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Kim said.
