Both teams had their chances, but the Philadelphia Stars eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring clash between Philadelphia and Habana, pitcher Stephen Geraldo was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Philadelphia reliever Ronaldo Buxó picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Toni Perris took the loss.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Rey Aguancha to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Philadelphia manager .
The win has Philadelphia at 8-4.
