But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. “I want to be on the field,” the feisty Victoria de Las Tunas closer said. “I’ll play through just about anything.” Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Badiola out of action for 8 months.
JPN - Román Felipe of the Rough Riders just might have to call it quits for the season. The 24-year-old Santiago de Cuba starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Deadwood Aces and Eights recently at Rough Riders Ballpark. Felipe suffered a ruptured disc while throwing a pitch. The Rough Riders medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 13 months.
PAN - Pittsburgh 2B Arturo Rodríguez drives in eight in 10-4 win over Balboa. He went 3-4 with two homers.
USA - Mariel fans will be disappointed to learn that José Pelles developed back spasms while throwing a pitch in today’s game.
