This has been a very odd season, and I haven’t quite adapted to Cube. Last year, a team strength was team defense/pitching. But this year, we’ve got the same cast of characters and a .348 BABIP against which is killing our pitching staff. Earlier in the year, I was writing it off as being a small sample size, but the sample size is getting…[Read more]

  • Looks like to Busan is back on the winning path in Korea. Glad to say I’m faring a little better in Cuba than the Dragons did last year, so I’m hoping to not come back. Still love following this league though… Longitude shaping up to be a nice race. One of these days, Wuhan will win…

  • Sweet, thank you!

Wow, it’s not like that was against a scrub SP either…

  • We may not have the horses to compete up here, and don’t have a lot of depth, so I’m going to at least test the waters here but I may not end up selling.

In another deal, we sent SP Beck Maitland away to Hamilton for a dollar. The Lendra deal pushed us up against the cap and moving Maitland gives us some more breathing room for the rest of the season. There wasn’t much room in the majors for Maitland anyway. The Maitland deal with Jeonju is one that I regret, as I gave up…

  • Yikes, that is pretty crazy that someone would do that. It’s also crazy that people who try to do this shit don’t realize how easy it is to match IP addresses. When I was in HS, we had a school forum similar to the WBH forum that was just run by the kids (no affiliation to the school). Then one day someone decided to create a new ID and bash…[Read more]

Extremely thankful to be 3-3 right now considering we have a -16 run differential. The biggest factor is a .441 BABIP for our pitchers which has led to a 6.53 ERA for SPs and over 9 for the pen. Our PoY Candidate Suk Om is 0-2 with a 9.64 ERA and .450 BABIP. FA Acquisition Arrone Beauregard has pitched in 4 games and has an .800 BABIP which is…[Read more]

  • Congrats to every player and GM on the list. I’m sure the players are especially thrilled. I’ll put my plug in for the Jays here…

Qi-chao Huang had a great season for us and we’re hopeful that he will be named the hitter of the year. He won the WBH Overall Triple crown with a .370 Ave, 41 HR (Tie for 1st) and 126 RBI while scoring 116 runs.…[Read more]

I appreciate the love… I must say that our chances look a lot better after this past sims signings… I still wouldn’t consider us the front-runner as Dan does, but we should have a better chance of contending after filling the huge hole in the middle of our lineup.

Most importantly we re-signed possible hitter of the year Qi-chao Huang after…[Read more]

  • You know the Cuba draft class is bad when I reach at a guy like CF Manny Perafiel in the first round. I thought the class was about 6-7 deep so it sucked sitting at #8.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Perafiel has nice tools but his hitting needs some work.

  • In adding up the ratings, I only have one that equates to a 7.7.7 and here are my rotations results last year. I’d say that’s above average. I was in 3rd tier, not one of you upper level guys, but still.

    SP Om 7.6.8 (Total 21) – 2.46 ERA
    SP Im 9.4.7 (Total 20) – 3.45 ERA
    SP Alejandre 6.7.7 (Total 20) – 3.58 ERA
    SP Ramos 7.8.5 (Total 20) – 2.97…[Read more]

  • Don’t league levels have a lot to do with it too? In Korea, I felt like I had an absolutely dominant rotation. I’ve been promoted to Cuba and now I feel like I have a pretty average rotation. I would imagine that if I compared my rotation to the teams in the US, then my rotation would suck.

So a 7 contact guy in the US might hit .260, but in…[Read more]

We missed out on both of our top FA candidates with what I thought were very competitive offers. Had to really re-assess things last night, we’ll see how the rest of FA shakes out….

We did hit on one of our depth FA signings, MR Aronne Beauregard, and won a waiver claim for 1B Mao Huang.

Beauregard is a reliever with phenomenal stuff, minimal…[Read more]

    The Trek of a 20-Game Loser – Part 1

There are few pitchers in WBH history that know what it’s like to lose 20 games in one season. For Jays pitcher Santiago Valle, that was his reality in his 2033 rookie season pitching for Wuhan….

Q: How were you feeling going into that 2033 season that went so wrong for you?
    A: I was feeling great. After…[Read more]
