Maceira has a ‘wrecked’ injury rating and has declined into being a bench player, so good foresight by me. For catcher, I’ll just live with below-average offense for the first month of the season.
The way I see it is that relegation is supposed to be super-punishing and promotion is supposed to be super-rewarding. The Bahia got our paws on Dave Berard (stealing him from rival Lagunillas), who will close. We also got Martinez Hernandez who will play LF against right-handed pitching, setting up a hopefully decent platoon with Nacho Domgo, who can crush lefties.
Pitching is firing on all cylinders, except for poor Rafael Martinez, who may be reaching the end of his illustrious rope after a devastating injury last year.
