Sweet Scorches Tortugas for 3 HR Friday, August 9th , 2069 Fans are still buzzing after Erie whipped the Azua Tortugas by the score of 6-2 today at Sea Wolves Ballpark. Johnny Sweet smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the left fielder bashed out 3 hits in 3 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Sweet said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Sweet said. "Three is just... wow." Johnny Sweet hit a solo-shot off Ramírez Yulfo in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ramírez Yulfo in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jong-duk Yi in the 8th. This year Sweet is hitting .237 with 20 home runs and 66 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .300 clip and scored 44 runs. |
