Golden Dragons Earn 6-5 Win Versus Alacranes
The Monterrey Alacranes got a sterling performance from pitcher René Granados, but the Hong Kong Golden Dragons still prevailed, 6-5. Granados threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Mesfin Mutegwamaso, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits. The Golden Dragons raised their record to 19-28.

Hong Kong used the timely hitting of Terao Ishikawa to capture the win. The left fielder socked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Golden Dragons ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ishikawa told a Hong Kong Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
