Elequemedo Cervantes was a major contributor to the 9-4 Suwon win over Hong Kong. The Samsung Lions right fielder was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The save went to Elvio Ortega, number 4 for him. The losing streak for Hong Kong has now reached 4 games.

Suwon grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gi Park delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Samsung Lions.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cervantes said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
