Hong Kong Shut Out, 2-0, By Alacranes, Laureano
|
The Monterrey Alacranes shut out the Hong Kong Golden Dragons 2-0 today behind the strong pitching of Enrique Laureano. Laureano surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 8.
Following the last out, Laureano appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Hong Kong manager , who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Laureano's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Golden Dragons skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Alacranes press conference, Laureano confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Laureano said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Monterrey manager added.
His record for the year is 4-4 in 9 starts and Laureano has a 3.88 ERA.
