Ushijima HR-Happy in 5-2 Win
With right fielder Kosaku Ushijima leading the charge, the Vancouver Ventures defeated the Tocumen Pollo Diablo, 5-2, at Pollo Diablo Stadium. Ushijima, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Hokichi Samurakami recorded his 1st save for Vancouver. The Pollo Diablo drop to 4-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2069 season.

Ushijima contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Vancouver in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Ushijima took a fastball from John Weston and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Ventures to leap in front, 2-1.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Ushijima said after the game.
