Despite a great performance by Chihuahua third baseman Rafael Rodríguez, the Tijuana Saltamontes defeated the Chihuahuas by the score of 8-5 at Ballpark of Chihuahua. Rodríguez was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bum-kyoo Ch'oe earned the save, his 28th in 30 tries. The second-place Saltamontes have won 6 straight games.

Tijuana used the timely hitting of Rafe Muñóz to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Saltamontes on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Tijuana manager .
