Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Barquisimeto Obeliscos and Vancouver Ventures.

Vancouver right fielder Kosaku Ushijima was sensational. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Barquisimeto beat the Ventures, 4-3. The winner was Barquisimeto reliever Adrián Zovala, now 1-1. The loser was Hokichi Samurakami. Luís Pacheo was credited with the save, his 30th in 34 tries.

Also pitching in for Barquisimeto was pinch hitter Juan Litorja, who hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, Litorja went 1-1 with a home run.

Litorja said his team "played with determination."

Barquisimeto raised its record to 53-50 with the win.
