The Ventures faced a stiff challenge from Tijuana pitcher Sung-yong Kim, but persevered to claim a win at Ballpark of Vancouver. The final score was 2-1. Kim went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Hokichi Samurakami came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The win gives Vancouver a record of 3-1.

Glen Taggart was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ventures catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Vancouver skipper .
