The home crowd had a good time watching the Santiago de Cuba Rough Riders and Azua Tortugas get after it.
In a low-scoring contest, Azua pitcher Pedro García was marvelous in his team's 3-1 win. García went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 10-4.
Paul Conway took Byung-sik Yi deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Tortugas on top, 2-0. In all, Conway had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Nice win," said Conway. "Not sure what else you want me to say."
Azua now has a record of 62-58 with the win.
